Technical Information for ABC Asia Pacific Smart Card operation
Please ensure that your satellite dish and decoder is tuned into PAS-8. Details of how to tune into PAS-8 are located on our website at http://abcasiapacific.com/tuning/
Once you are tuned into PAS-8, scroll through the available channels on your decoder’s remote control. You should see 3 channels.
1. ABC ASIA (sound and vision)
2. ABC INDIA (sound but no vision)
3. ABC PACIFIC (sound but no vision)
Choose ABC ASIA.
Insert your Smart Card with the chip facing up.
If you get an error message on your screen, which says “Smart Card Failure” or “Smart Card Inactive”, then you may have an equipment problem.
We are using Irdeto 2 version 5 encryption. Therefore, you need a decoder box, which is compatible with Irdeto 2. Be careful…Irdeto 1 boxes will not work.
If your box is not compatible with Irderto 2, then the following may help.
If you have a Set Top Box with a CI slot (i.e. a generic box with a slot to insert a cam module), then you need a cam module Eurocam with revision 1.10b or later.
These cams are red in colour see attached and are part number 904505.

Alternatively, if you have an Irdeto Euro CAM part number 901275 or 904063 (Irdeto II softcell version 2.09) then these should be upgradeable to version 1.11 at
http://www.scmmicro.com/support/dtv_product_drivers.html
If you are using a STB that has Irdeto embedded into the box, then it will need to have "softcell" version 2.09 or later. This should be available in boxes built after 2001. Be careful as boxes off the shelf may have been built some time ago.
